📢 Call for a Consultant
CHEVS is seeking a consultant team to design and facilitate a 4 to 5 day convening, turning the concept note into a working agenda and making the political and facilitation choices the success of the gathering depends on.
The consultant will also carry the convening's discussions through to its intended products after it closes. The role thus runs from program design through facilitation to the drafting that follows.
What we're looking for
- ✨Two or more facilitators/consultants preferred
- ✨Demonstrated experience designing and facilitating convenings, retreats, or strategy sessions for feminist or LBQTI+ movements, ideally within an African context.
- ✨Familiarity with the political landscape that LBQTI+ movements navigate across the continent, including engagement with frameworks such as the Maputo Protocol.
- ✨Experience translating political analysis into workable session design, including for sensitive or contested subject matter.
- ✨Experience working with rapporteurs or documentation people who capture proceedings for later use, and experience drafting finished strategy or advocacy documents such as an agenda, a set of funding demands, or a policy brief from convening notes after the fact.
- ✨Fluency in written and spoken English is required, and the ability to also work in a second or third language such as French or Portuguese is an asset.
- ✨Demonstrated alignment with the feminist, anti-extractivist, and accountability principles set out in the convening concept note.
